Work Principle

 

Interception effect

Larger particles in the air, such as dust and pollen, will be directly intercepted by the filter material when the airflow passes through the filter. This effect is similar to the sieve sifting, and larger particles cannot pass through the tiny pores of the filter material and are blocked on the air inlet side of the filter.

 

Electrostatic adsorption

Filter materials usually use fiber materials with static electricity, such as electret fibers. When tiny particles in the air approach the filter material, they will be affected by the electrostatic attraction and be firmly adsorbed on the surface of the filter material. Even very small particles can hardly escape this adsorption force.

 

Diffusion

For smaller particles, they will perform irregular Brownian motion in the air. In the process of passing through the filter, these small particles will constantly collide with the filter material fibers and eventually be retained on the filter material, thereby achieving a filtering effect.
